who we support

ONE VOICE candidates are committed to progressive values and pledge their ongoing support of public policies that lift individuals and protect all against civil and human rights violations.

Throughout history women have risen up to fight for freedom; a quality education; healthcare for all; a living wage; supporting LGTBQIA+ communities, addressing the climate emergency, and ensuring equality for all in our nation and across the globe. Our endorsed candidates are committed to engaging on the following:

  • Championing Equity, Equality & Inclusion - promoting and ensuring gender equity and inclusion of diversity across all levels of government, as well as, supporting the election of diverse women officeholders throughout the leadership of party caucuses nationally and in all 50 states.

  • Supporting Racial & Economic Justice - ensuring policies are adopted to address the historic racial and economic injustice in our nation.

  • Protecting & Expanding Healthcare For All - expanding healthcare access and addressing the ongoing disparities in healthcare treatment, access and outcomes.

  • Ensuring Environmental Justice - addressing climate change and environmental justice and ensuring that clean air and water is provided to all communities.

  • Criminal Justice & Policing Reform - addressing criminal justice and policing reforms.

About barbara lee

Barbara Lee was born in El Paso, Texas and her family moved to California in 1960.

Growing up in the segregated Southwest, Barbara learned at an early age the importance of standing up for one’s beliefs and of fighting for equality for all. Currently, Congresswoman Lee serves on the Budget Committee and the powerful Appropriations Committee, which oversees all federal government spending.

Congresswoman Lee is the highest ranking Woman of Color in Congressional Leadership, serving as House Democratic Co-Chair of the Policy and Steering Committee. As Co-Chair, Rep. Lee works to ensure that committees reflect the diversity, dynamism, and integrity of the Democratic Caucus.

She is also the first African American Member of Congress to Chair the House Appropriations subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations. This subcommittee oversees the United States' investment of our global nondefense, diplomatic, humanitarian, and development programs.
